Main causes for Kayo Sports app Not Working On your Samsung Smart TV
There are a few potential causes for this issue.
1. Compatibility issues
One of the most common causes is that the app is not compatible with the Samsung Smart TV model. Kayo Sports is only available on certain models of Samsung Smart TV, so if your model is not compatible, the app will not work.
2. Outdated Software
Another potential cause is that the app may be out of date. Kayo Sports regularly updates its app, so if you haven't updated the app in a while, it may be causing the app to not work properly. So Make sure that your Samsung Smart TV is running the latest firmware version available.
3. Poor Internet Connection
Also, it could be an issue with the internet connection. If you are experiencing problems with the Kayo Sports app, try resetting the internet connection or restarting the Samsung Smart TV. Make sure that your router is configured correctly as well. This should resolve any potential issues with the internet connection.
4. Corrupt Data
It is possible that the data stored on your Samsung Smart TV is corrupted. To fix this, try resetting the device to its factory settings. This will erase all of the data and settings, so make sure to backup any important files before resetting your device.
How to fix Kayo Sports app Not Working On your Samsung Smart TV ?
1. Ensure that your Samsung TV is compatible with Kayo Sports
To use the Kayo app, you'll need a Samsung smart TV from 2017 or later that's running Tizen OS. To check the year and OS version of your Samsung TV, refer to the information provided on their website.
For Samsung TVs from before 2017, replacing the TV may not be necessary. A cheaper and more convenient solution would be to add a streaming stick.
You can easily watch Kayo Sports on any TV, whether it be a smart TV or a regular one, by adding a Fire TV Stick or a Roku streaming stick. Both of these devices are user-friendly and come with access to all of the major streaming applications.
2. Test Your Internet Connection Speed
If you experience buffering issues with Kayo or other streaming apps, it's possible that your internet connection is too slow or unreliable. In such cases, you might not be able to connect to the Kayo Sports servers.
You can check the internet speed on your computer or phone by running a speed test.
Ensure that the device you're using is connected to the same network as your TV. If you're using your phone, make sure to switch off your mobile data and connect it only to a Wi-Fi network.
If your internet speed is slower than 3-4 Mbps for standard streaming or 5-8 Mbps for HD, then you should take the below steps to improve it:
- Examine any potential sources of interference (e.g. too many walls between your router and your television).
- Reboot your router and Modem (see the next tip).
- Reach out to your internet service provider to determine if there are any network issues or if you require an upgrade.
3. Power cycle your router
It is likely that your local Wi-Fi network is the cause of the problem, rather than your TV or the Kayo Sports app.
Rather than attempting to troubleshoot each individual network issue, it is much simpler to restart the entire system. Doing this on a monthly basis can help maintain an optimal level of performance.
Before beginning, ensure that no one in your home is currently using the internet. This process will temporarily disconnect all network and internet connections for approximately five minutes while restarting.
Alright, let's begin:
- Disconnect the power cords from your router and modem.
- Pause for 30 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cables.
- Wait a few minutes for the modem and router to boot up.
If your TV is reconnected to the network, try launching the Kayo app. Additionally, if the speed of your network was slow when you tested it, you should perform another test. Restarting your router may temporarily increase your speeds, though it won't resolve every issue.
4. Power Cycle or Restart Your Samsung TV
If you're experiencing issues with an app, it may be due to a random software glitch. In most cases, the best way to fix this is to simply turn it off and then turn it back on again.
To restart Samsung TV apps, you need to completely power down the TV.
To do this:
- Press and hold the power button on your remote for at least five seconds until the TV turns off.
- Once the TV has been shut down, press the power button again to turn it back on.
This will force a restart of the active app, allowing you to start using it again.
Two methods exist for restarting a Samsung TV:
Restarting your TV Via the remote:
- Ensure your TV is not in standby mode and is powered on.
- Press and hold the power button on your remote until the TV turns off and the power comes back on.
- Subsequently, press the Home button and open the Kayo Sports app you were attempting to restart.
Restarting your TV manually:
You can manually reboot your TV without a remote, making this an accessible solution for anyone. Furthermore, this process works for non-Samsung Smart TVs, so it is one of the few universally applicable options.
- Disconnect your TV's power cable from the electrical socket or surge protector.
- Allow two minutes to pass.
- Reconnect the power source and switch on the TV.
- Press the Home button.
- Choose Kayo Sports application.
If you are still having trouble with the Kayo Sports app, you might want to try restarting it. Keeping these instructions handy can help solve many TV issues.
5. Perform Samsung TV Firmware Update
Similar to updating apps on your device, firmware updates can often rectify any issues you may be having with your TV apps.
Samsung smart TVs have the capability to update automatically, however, they also offer users the choice to manually trigger a firmware update. This is rarely necessary, however, it can be beneficial in the case of an automatic update that has not gone through properly with no indication.
To update your Samsung TV:
- Press the Home button on the remote control to open the Smart Hub.
- Then, click Settings in the menu, select the Software Update tab, and click Update Now.
- Allow the download to finish and follow the on-screen instructions to install the update.
After updating the firmware, attempt to use the Kayo app again.
6. Clear the Kayo Sports App Cache
Rather than reinstalling the app, Samsung TVs provide you with the option to erase an app's cache, which is similar to deleting the cookies from your web browser. Doing so often eliminates any random malfunctions in the app.
Also, To ensure your Kayo Sports app is running optimally, you can clear the app's cache. This will remove any stored data and allow the app to run more smoothly.
Here's how you can clear the Kayo Sports app cache:
- Press the Home button on the remote control of your Samsung TV to access the Smart Hub.
- From there, select the Settings option in the menu, then click on the Apps tab.
- Select System Apps, look for the Kayo app, and click the Clear Cache option.
- Confirm your selection by pressing OK.
- Restart the Kayo Sports app.
7. Remove and install the Kayo Sports App again
If clearing the cache doesn't solve app issues, you'll need to delete it and reinstall it to get it running again.
To delete the Kayo App from your Samsung TV:
- Press the Home button on the remote.
- Select Apps from the on-screen menu and click Settings.
- Navigate to the Kayo App, select Delete, and press Delete in the pop-up to confirm.
To install the Kayo app on your Samsung TV:
- Press the Home button on the remote, then select Apps from the on-screen menu.
- Next, select the Search icon (the magnifying glass) in the Apps screen and enter Kayo in the search box.
- Finally, press the Install button.
Attempt to launch the Kayo Sports app once more. You will have to enter your credentials, since they won't be saved from the earlier installation.
8. Disable your VPN
A Virtual Private Network (VPN) can be used to protect your online privacy, as well as access geo-restricted content. However, some streaming services, such as Kayo Sports, block access when a VPN is detected.
If you are having trouble streaming Kayo Sports on your TV, then you should try turning off your VPN.
Once you have done this, you should then try to access Kayo Sports again.
9. You can try streaming Kayo Sports app on another device
If the app isn't working on your Samsung Smart TV, you can try using it on another device.
While it is designed to run on Samsung Smart TVs, there are other ways to watch Kayo Sports without worrying about technical issues.
The app is available on several different devices, including Apple TV, Android, and iOS. This should give you access to Kayo Sports, even if the app isn't working on your Samsung Smart TV.
If Kayo Sports is not functioning on any of your devices, it could be an issue with either your Kayo Sports account or with the servers of Kayo Sports.
10. Find out the Status of the Kayo Sports Server
If you're experiencing problems with Kayo Sports, you can use Downinspector to check if other people in your area are having similar issues. Often, Kayo Sports outages are localized and quickly resolved.
If you can't find anything on Downinspector, it's probably time to check Kayo Sports support Twitter page for a more up-to-date information.
11. Reset your TV to its factory settings
Performing a factory reset on your TV could potentially resolve any issues you are having with your Kayo app. This will erase all of your TV settings and app data, but it could be the fix you need to get your streaming app working again.
To do this:
- Press the Home button on your Samsung TV's remote control to access the smart hub.
- Then, navigate to the Settings menu, and select the General tab (or Support -> Self Diagnosis on some TVs).
- Input your PIN or use the default of 0000 to open the Reset menu.
- Finally, confirm the reset process by clicking OK.
Attempt to launch the Kayo Sports app again. This should rectify any potential software or firmware issues that were impeding the app from running on your Samsung TV.
